This is a painting of the Moroccan mint tea ritual experienced from the inside — the zellige tile table, the silver teapot, the pour from height, the amber tea filling the glass. A plate of nuts to the left. An ornate silver tray to the right. The hand and orange sleeve enter the frame from above, caught in the act rather than posed for it.

The palette is built around the turquoise and yellow of the mosaic tiles — vivid, particular, the kind of North African colour confidence that is warm without being loud. The orange of the jacket sleeve warms the composition further. The silver of the teapot and tray introduces a cooler counterpoint. The tea glows amber against the tile.

The loose illustration style — painterly, slightly textured — gives the image its life. It looks observed rather than designed, which is why it works so well as a piece for a kitchen or a sitting room: it brings an atmosphere you want to inhabit rather than admire from a distance.
