The Veja Rio Branco in Alveomesh Emeraude — upper woven from recycled polyester, on a sugarcane EVA midsole.

Alveomesh is Veja's technical upper fabric — spun entirely from recycled polyester derived from plastic bottles. The Rio Branco uses no virgin synthetic fibres in its upper construction. Emeraude — a saturated emerald green — runs the length of the mesh, setting against a White sole. Highly breathable, lightweight, and fully vegan. Made in Brazil.

Product Details

The Rio Branco Alveomesh uses a technical upper fabric spun entirely from recycled polyester — delivering breathability and flexibility without any virgin synthetic fibres. Suede and leather panels reinforce the toe and heel.

The midsole blends Amazonian rubber with sugar cane-derived E.V.A., reducing fossil-fuel content across the build. The outsole adds recycled rubber alongside Amazonian rubber. Lining is recycled polyester; laces organic cotton. Size up from EU 41.

Care & Origin

• Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap — do not machine wash

• Remove laces before cleaning and wash separately by hand

• Allow to air dry naturally at room temperature — do not tumble dry or dry near heat

• Protect the mesh upper with a water-repellent spray suitable for mixed materials

• For deeper cleaning, use a soft toothbrush on the sole edges
